i did not catch a bull shark while fishing in the potomac...i did not catch anything.

yeah...i knew they were here...just not so close to home! a pound net caught this 8 foot bull shark in the potomac about a mile from me, then the fisherman killed it: that seems rather unneccessary: sharks are misunderstood creatures: much like myself.

sharks in the chesapeake!

yes, there are sharks in the chesapeake bay! in fact, tidal fish has reported bull sharks as part of the fishing mix the past few weeks in the lower bay: not a fan! actually, there are several varieties of shark (including hammerheads) in the bay that fisherman all the way up at pax river may see...i did not know that.

another fishing world championship

i have been in myrtle beach at the remnants of their bike week: looking forward to fishing soon. tidal fish's hyper angler, julie ball, reports that despite this weekend's eastern shore fourth annual black drum world championship, these fish are few and far between lately. some drums have been hooked at quinby, near hog island, in the shallows off the eastern shore barrier islands, and near buoy 13 on chowder and clams. a few fish are over 46 inches and action will pick up soon, she reports.

not fishing today

super windy today: not going out. tidal fish reports that once the wind dies down, i can look forward to spot, speckled trout, and puppy drum. say "good-bye" to summer favorites such as flounder, cobia, and red drum as they stage to head out.
