back in august i reported on the earthrace bio diesel boat that broke the round-the world record by over 60 days. after the race it was renamed the ady gil and employed by sea shephard to pester whale hunters the whole world over. today one of those whale hunting boats split the vessel in two. apparently, nearby boats did NOT rush to save the 8-member crew as the boat sank. they were eventually rescued by another anti-whale hunting boat. whoa!

earthrace
this crazy boat intended to showcase environmentally friendly technologies such as biodiesel, low-emission engines, non-toxic antifouling paint and efficient hull design set the round-the-world record last year in 60+ days, beating the old record by almost 14 days. this bad ass 100% bio-diesel boat penetrates waves, does not ride them! the next step is to paint it black and be a stealth whale hunting infiltrator: radical! follow their adventure on twitter. the discovery channel's special on earthrace debuts soon.
